About
Biography
Dr Matthias Salomon
Environmental Consultant & Researcher
I’m an environmental consultant and researcher. My work covers the production and audit of carbon inventories, including supplementary services such as literature review, scenario modelling, and data visualisation. The need for this work varies widely, from organisations measuring and offsetting emissions voluntarily to those responding to increasing regulatory requirements, such as mandatory climate disclosure and reporting frameworks.
I am based in Adelaide and work with clients in Australia and Europe, tailoring my services to each organisation's own priorities and the regulatory requirements that apply to them.
I have a PhD in soil ecology from Adelaide University and remain a research fellow there. I publish on soil health, carbon sequestration and sustainable food production. In addition to my academic research, I am committed to work directly with companies to have a more immediate impact and support the green transition of our economy.

Carbon accounting inevitably involves sensitive information, such as energy bills, production figures or supplier contracts and financial data. I fully understand the risks and the duty of care that comes with handling such material, and I treat every client's data with highest confidentiality.
Being tech-savvy, I am comfortable working within your security requirements. This might involve using your preferred file-sharing platforms, following your IT policies, signing NDAs, or agreeing on data-handling and deletion procedures.
